How Often Should We Wash Our Masks?
The make up stains are getting serious.
After initial confusion on how effective a mask can be at preventing the contraction of coronavirus, the WHO now maintains that masks should be worn in public places. And in the UK, you can now be refused public transport if you are not wearing one.
More and more studies are confirming that masks are crucial against the spread of coronavirus, as they prevent virus-infected respiratory droplets from entering the body. But especially as the weather gets warmer, the masks are getting clammier and smellier. So, how often should we wash them?
The CDC (Centres for Disease Control and Prevention) states that a reusable cloth mask should be washed on the warmest setting in a washing machine or hand washed in a bleach and water solution. They also suggest that a mask should be washed after each use. Although a single “use” is yet to be defined, there’s one thing to take from this… WASH YOUR MASKS REGULARLY (and stay safe x).
