As we still stay in our homes and cautiously leave them when it’s essential, we long to know what the next few months will bring. The uncertainty of the future stops us from planning too far ahead, but Helmut Lang has seemingly decided to prepare for every possibility. Whether we’ll be back in the office, the city, or a bar – this FW21 collection has you covered.
The versatile collection combines futurism with classic pieces, and some pieces even offer detachable sleeves, once again boasting the adaptable element of the collection.
Lang has drawn some inspiration from ski wear, with waterproof and wind-resistant garments and the use of hi-tech materials such as astro foil. Again, highlighting the more futuristic, even sci-fi aspect of the collection.
We see classic silhouettes and styles with looks that are more of a nostalgic nod to the 90s, rather than a glimpse into the future. Layering features in a few of the styled outfits, with one example being wrap skirts paired with flared trousers. Trendy looks featuring pleated skirts, strappy shoulders, and denim jackets make the collection feel timeless.
