Grammy Awards Postponed Due To Covid Anxieties

Yet another 2021 event we won’t be able to enjoy.

Like many events in the past year, the 2021 Grammys have also been postponed due to rising numbers of COVID-19 in California. The famous awards ceremony is due to be rescheduled to March 14th instead of January 31st, leaving us waiting for our award show fix. Nominations were in place for Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Beyonce – to name a few.

We don’t know too much about what the plans for the show are at the moment, however organizers had shared that the event would be mostly virtual this year. The official statement from the Recording Academy reads “Nothing is more important than the health and safety of those in our music community and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly on producing the show.” Other big award ceremonies, such as the Oscars, the Golden Globes and the Brit Awards, have also been postponed.

While this is sad news for music lovers, safety always comes first and giving up events now will lead to even bigger and better ones in the future.
