For my birthday, a friend bought me a bag that looks like an ice cream truck. It’s pink and silver and fabulous, and wearing it makes me feel like I’m in a girly, hyperpop music video.

I’ve been seeing more and more fashion influencers talk about the concept of “conversation-starting” pieces, and I couldn’t love them more. Trying to leave your mark in new places is always tough, which is why it’s a blessing to be able to let your clothes and accessories do the talking.

I saw a clam handbag in a store last year, and I remember thinking it was such a fun item for summer. It’s a way for all of your outfits to stay loyal to a beachy, ocean-themed look. Perhaps this autumn, I’ll have to keep an eye out for bags shaped like an autumn leaf.
