Gestuz’s SS27 Collection Made Me Want To Dress Like I’m In A ’70s Movie
Less about trends more about feelings.
Called "Double Exposure," the show transformed Copenhagen Fashion Week into a sun-soaked nod to 1970s Los Angeles, complete with a photobooth where guests could capture memories before and after the runway. It felt playful, nostalgic, and refreshingly unconcerned with taking itself too seriously.
The ’70s Inspiration Never Felt Costume-Like

I always get nervous when brands lean heavily into a specific decade, but Gestuz found the sweet spot.
Oversized blazers, zebra prints, washed denim, and strong shoulders nodded to the '70s without looking like vintage replicas. Everything felt modern enough to wear tomorrow while still carrying that carefree California energy.
The mix of structured tailoring with softer dresses and flowing scarves gave the collection balance. It felt confident without becoming too polished, which is exactly the kind of styling I love.
The Photobooth Was Such A Fun Touch

One of my favorite parts of the presentation wasn't even on the runway.
Instead of building an elaborate set, Gestuz placed photobooths throughout the venue, encouraging everyone to stop, pose, and actually enjoy the moment. It tied perfectly into the collection's idea of celebrating the small rituals that don't really have a purpose beyond making us happy.
I honestly think fashion could use more moments like that. Not everything has to be serious to leave an impression.
These Are Clothes Made To Be Enjoyed

What Gestuz does so well is create pieces that feel aspirational without feeling intimidating.
There were sharp blazers, easy tailoring, flowing dresses, leather jackets, and animal prints that looked exciting without feeling impossible to style. It all struck that balance between dressed up and effortless, making the collection feel just as relevant for everyday life as it did on the runway.
That's probably why the brand continues to resonate season after season. The clothes never feel trapped inside fashion week.
Sometimes Fashion Is Just About Feeling Good

Creative director Sanne Sehested built Double Exposure around the idea of shared moments and everyday joy, and I think that optimism came through in every look.
Gestuz celebrated confidence, connection, and clothes that make getting dressed feel fun again. After a season filled with conceptual collections, it was refreshing to see a brand embrace glamour without losing its sense of ease. I left wanting two things: a perfectly oversized blazer and a reason to spend the afternoon taking photobooth pictures with my friends.
