An Evening With Fugazzi In Berlin
A deeper, bolder sequel to its cult-favorite scent.
Last night’s Berlin launch of Vanilla Haze, hosted by Fugazzi, invited guests into a world where gourmand notes met urban edge. The event combined a thoughtfully crafted Italian menu with elegant aperitivos — refined yet playful, with subtle but brilliant touches that made the experience feel immersive.
Fugazzi is renowned for its avant-garde approach to perfumery, crafting high-concentration, long-lasting fragrances that blend heritage craftsmanship with modern, sometimes provocative compositions. Founder Bram Niessink described perfume creation as “a very personal process,” explaining that each scent begins with an essence that inspires him before being shared with his closest circle to decide whether it is ready for release.
What’s Inside the Haze
Vanilla Haze was described as “a walking crème brûlée,” sweet yet balanced, never cloying. The fragrance opens with creamy coconut milk, hazelnut and almond, moves into a heart of vanilla pod, tonka bean and jasmine, and finishes with caramel, saffron, amber and musk, creating depth, warmth and excellent longevity.
The Philosophy
When asked what Berlin would smell like, Niessink pointed to ANGEL DUST XDP: “It’s raw, it’s peppery, it’s urban with a note of darkness — but definitely vibrant.”
