Florence Pugh Has Been Cast in Dune: Part Two
Pugh has been cast as Princess Irulan for the second instalment of the series.
Florence Pugh could be re-joining her Little Women co-star Timotheé Chalamet on the set of Dune: Part Two, the second installment in the film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel. The Oscar-nominated actress has allegedly been cast as Princess Irulan, a romantic interest for Chalamet’s character Paul Atreides. Princess Irulan is the eldest daughter of Emperor Shaddam Corrino, Paul’s nemesis within the series, creating a complex relationship between the love interests. Although Pugh’s role in the series is yet to be confirmed, fans of Little Women would be sure to enjoy seeing her act alongside Chalamet once again, especially considering the popularity of their chemistry as Amy and Laurie in the 2019 adaptation of the novel.

The first film in the Dune series was immensely popular at the box office and has been highly critically acclaimed, receiving 10 Oscar nominations for this year’s Academy Awards, including Best Picture, following on from past failed attempts to adapt the book series onto the silver screen. The film grossed almost $400 million worldwide, including $41 million on opening weekend. Following on from the success of the first film, the sequel is set to begin production this summer ready for release in October 2023.
