Lost In Candy Ken’s Paradise

POSTED BY JAMES UNDERWOOD

Are you bored of the same old Pop music rearing its ugly head every time you turn on the radio? Then it’s time to switch over to Rap.

If you’re open minded and don’t mind a bit of weird, look no further than Candy Ken’s latest EP ‘Candy Ken Paradise.’ This montageof five numbers is Ken’s personal war on normality, not to mention a showcase for his extravagant yet nonchalant nature. You’d do well to avoid ‘Basic Bitch be Quiet’ if you’re easily offended.

The combination of muscles and Hello Kitty is unusual, and however abnormal he looks with those golden fake teeth it’s clear that Candy Ken just doesn’t care. But why should he? He is far from the best rapper, sure, but it would seem that in his case entertainment is more important than pure talent.

You may set out with the mind-set that you don’t like the guy, but you’ll inevitably end up rapping along to his songs anyway. The lyrics rarely make any sense but when he throws out lines like ‘stop da hate and be a fan,’ you’d have to be pretty heartless to ignore him.

Doubtless, ‘Snapchat’ is quite possibly the oddest number you’ll ever hear, and across the board this EP is full of camera work that will probably leave you with a headache. Candy Ken is carving out his own niche in the world of Rap and his style, however extravagant, is as ‘fresh’ as it is colourful.
