Find Your Perfect Shade With Google’s New AR Try-On System
No more non-refundable beauty returns!
Have you ever searched for an eyeshadow palette online, but struggled with whether the colors would suit you? Have you ever ordered a new foundation, only to realize that it’s the totally wrong shade (and that, because you’ve swatched it, it’s non-refundable)?
Google’s new augmented reality (AR) system has you covered.
Working with the likes of L’Oreal, Charlotte Tilbury, and MAC, searching for a certain product within the Google app will now present you with a try-on feature. From here, you can click through a range of models to find one that best suits your complexion, and the model will be "wearing" your chosen product/shade.
For an even more accurate reading, you can also “try on” the product by using your front camera. You can even switch through a variety of shades to find one that best suits you.
This may help to make Google more appealing to younger people, who typically follow direct links provided by social media advertisements or influencers to purchase products.
So if you’re looking for an accurate swatch while in-person retail is tanking, this feature may save your life (and your makeup bag).
