FIFA 2026 Fashion: Dressing Like It’s Match Day Every Day
World Cup energy, translated into real-life outfits.
World Cup 2026 is officially here, and even though I’m not exactly the kind of person who never misses a match, I always find myself getting pulled into the atmosphere. There’s something about the whole world watching the same thing at the same time that makes everything feel a little more exciting.
And whether you’re a hardcore football fan or just someone who’s been listening to Shakira on repeat because she is basically the FIFA queen, it has a way of quietly spilling into everyday life. For me, that shows up most in fashion. Sporty dressing isn’t usually my default, but during FIFA season I suddenly find myself reaching for pieces I wouldn’t normally think twice about.
It’s less about dressing like you’re going to a match, and more about that relaxed, slightly nostalgic sporty energy that feels easy to wear.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’d actually style that mood right now.
Jersey shirt with baggy shorts

If I’m being honest, this is the most “on theme” look, and also the one I’d probably be most hesitant to wear in real life unless I had a team I was genuinely invested in. But I love the idea of it. There’s something really fun about leaning fully into the jersey moment, especially when it’s balanced with something a little more unexpected like denim shorts instead of full sporty nylon.
It’s the kind of outfit that feels like confidence more than anything else.
Hoodie with skirt

This is probably the combination I come back to the most, FIFA season or not. I’ve always loved the contrast of something oversized and casual on top with something softer and more delicate on the bottom.
A hoodie with a skirt just works in a way that shouldn’t make sense but does. Whether it’s denim, A-line or something more floaty, it instantly feels more styled than you think it will.
Baby tee with sweatpants

This is basically my default setting at home, so I can’t pretend this is anything revolutionary. But swapping a regular T-shirt for a baby tee genuinely changes everything. It feels a bit more intentional, a bit more playful, even when you’re not really trying.
It’s the kind of outfit that works just as well for staying in as it does for stepping out for a coffee or a spontaneous walk that turns into hours outside.
Oversized T-shirt with cargo pants

This is the outfit I’d reach for on days when I want to feel like I’ve made an effort without actually making one. There’s something about the structure of cargo pants that stops the oversized T-shirt from feeling too relaxed, and I like that balance.
It feels a bit more “downtown” than sporty, but still fits into that wider FIFA mood of easy, lived-in dressing.
Accessories

Accessories are where this whole aesthetic really comes together for me. Sneakers are an obvious starting point, but I find myself leaning more towards chunkier silhouettes when I want that full sporty feel.
Long socks with skirts or shorts are also one of those details I didn’t think I cared about until I tried them, and now I can’t unsee how much they change the outfit.
Baseball caps, bandanas, hoop earrings, layered necklaces — it’s all about mixing sporty with a slightly softer finish so it doesn’t feel like a costume.
If anything, that’s what I like most about this whole mood. It doesn’t feel like dressing up as a football fan. It just feels like a slightly different way of getting dressed.
Scroll through my FizzyPicks below for the pieces I’d actually wear right now — the ones that make sporty dressing feel less like a trend and more like something I’d naturally fall into.
