Famous stars aren’t that different from us.

POSTED BY ANNA GRAHAM

It’s hard to imagine that our best-loved actors and actresses are doing anything else when they aren’t making blockbuster movies for us to enjoy, but at the end of the day these famous stars aren’t that different from us. They each have their own interests and preferences and make space in their schedule to enjoy them. While some things like traveling and cooking are common leisure activities that many undertake, there are a handful of other unique pursuits that celebs have been known to love. So, without further ado, let’s take a look the favorite hobbies of some rich and famous faces.

This is what these stars are up to when they are not being hunted down by the paparazzi

Brad Pitt - Pottery

Arguably the most famous actor of this generation, it’s hard to count how many times Brad Pitt has graced the big screen. When he isn’t receiving Oscar nominations and awards, you can find Pitt busy at the pottery wheel, crafting all kinds of intricate vessels. That’s right, believe it or not, this Oklahoma-born celeb is a huge fan of ceramics and even has his own sculpting studio at home. The icing on the cake? He has been known to share the hobby with fellow actor and friend Leonardo di Caprio, with the two staying up into the wee hours of the night in order to perfect their craft.

As a multi-billion-dollar business that is growing in revenue each year, it’s no secret that the gaming industry is exploding. While some users enjoy top-selling open-world action games like the Grand Theft Auto collection, others prefer popular slot games that boast different themes such as nautical life, where lifeboats and fishing rods light up the reels. From selections like these, to puzzle games, simulation titles, and those that represent sports franchises, the genre options are truly limitless. As for actress and television host Olivia Munn, she sticks to first-person shooter games. In various interviews she cites both the Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed series as being some of her top favs. Who knows - maybe one day you’ll find yourself facing off against Munn or another game-loving celeb in a virtual universe.

Do you happen to share any interests with the rich and famous, such as knitting?

Julia Roberts - Knitting

Julia Roberts is a beloved actress who has been shaking up Hollywood for decades. However, what some may not know is that the Pretty Woman star passes her time by knitting, and almost always carries around her materials with her while on set. The paparazzi has even spotted her wearing her own carefully crafted knit hats and scarves! One fun fact is that, in 2011, during the filming of the hit movie Larry Crowne, co-star Tom Hanks played a prank on Roberts whereby he got every member of the cast and crew to surprise her when she appeared on set, each of them gathered around, knitting simultaneously.

The most widely known T.V. host around, Oprah Winfrey may spend most of her time in front of the camera interviewing and entertaining, but at home you can find her tending to her garden full of plants and flowers. She especially enjoys raising roses and has shown off her bountiful collection during production. Gardening is a satisfying pursuit no matter the season, so it’s not hard to see why so many people, celebrities and beyond, invest their time and energy into it. After all, it’s the kind of hobby that gives back in a physical way with tangible and consumable results like veggies and fruit.

As for celebs that pursue athletic activities, Will Smith enjoys a good bout of fencing every now and again. He even competes and practices with other famous figures like Tom Cruise and British footballer, David Beckham. The sport may not be as conventional as football or basketball, but it’s still a great way to get in shape as it is a whole-body workout that combines cardio, balance, flexibility, and strength.
