Mimi Wade has once again wowed with the release of her SS22 collection earlier this month.
Inspired by her recent move to L.A, the intimidatingly accomplished 29-year-old has created a collection that pays homage to the golden age of Hollywood; with liberal sprinkles of Mimi Wade’s characteristic contemporary twist on the concept. Showcasing her individual spin on the theme, this range does not restrict its retro-glam sensibilities to the decades comprising Hollywood’s golden age. Instead, think an eclectic mashup of sixties flower power motifs, nineties minidress styles, and opulent ballgowns reminiscent of the twenties, thirties, and forties.
An unashamed devotee of Hollywood and all things pop culture, SS22 is not Mimi Wade’s first foray into silver screen style. Her grandmother a former actress, Wade’s signature Hollywood obsession has informed the label’s blueprint since its 2016 beginnings. One to literally wearing her film influences on her sleeve, Mimi Wade’s SS15 collection among others featured an evening dress emblazoned with the artwork of early-Hollywood shocker The Thing.
