Face Masks: Do They Work And Which To Get?

Stay Safe, Stay Steezy.

POSTED BY AMBER CALLENDER

Face masks are the accessory pretty much everyone has been sporting. Wearing a face mask cannot completely protect you from the COVID-19, as the virus can penetrate through masks and is still able to enter through the eyes, however, they do offer an extra layer of protection when making essential trips.

At Prague’s Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design Studios, students made hundreds of face masks to send out to hospitals, retirement homes and volunteers. People are even getting creative at home, making their own face masks. If you’re stuck for ideas, here are a few of our favorites:

The Dyspy Drip Mask by Dyspnea

These face masks are super cute but are more of a statement piece than protective wear. They come with the warning ‘Highly recommended for being siic AF but not recommended for medical procedures.’ These definitely won’t protect you from COVID-19 but would be the ultimate finish to a festival look.

3M 8511 N95 Respirator

3M has become known as one of the most trusted brands for surgical masks. The mask features a Cool Flow valve which offers 95% filtration against non-oil based particles. However, it might be a while until you’re able to get hold of one of these.

Bandana Face Mask

While this won’t give you much protection, it will keep your face covered when popping to the supermarket. Plus it can double up as a festival dust mask.
