Edward Crutchley Looks To The Past For Artisanal FW18 Collection
Inspired by global cultural heritage.
London-based designer Edward Crutchley is back for a second season, with a rich collection taking visual cues from global cultural heritage. Drawing inspiration from Chinese literature, Celtic mysticism, Greek classicism and 20th century trends, the offerings are a bold interplay between color, texture, print and cut – with a focus on artisanal techniques and fabrics.
The collection features two collaborations: emoji® and Kopenhagen Fur. emoji® is the owner and licensor of the registered emoji® trademark, whose universal pictorial language demonstrates a direct link between contemporary communication and the most ancient forms of writing. Two mink garments are made in collaboration with Kopenhagen Fur, combining a traditional hand cut and dyed intarsia technique with leather strip insertion.
We're in love with the loud prints, oversized outerwear and the super-versatile Hi Tec ‘Walk Lite RGS’ sneakers which ground all of the looks firmly in the contemporary.
