First Leak Of Drake’s ‘Chrome Hearts x Certified Lover Boy’ Apparel
Merch now, album later? That’s Drake’s Plan!
When producing new music, every artist teases their fans with short song snippets, visuals for a lead single or the album cover. Why? Well, obviously ‘cause they want to reach the biggest possible audience before even dropping ‘the stuff’. Then usually it is followed by the tour announcement and album merch right after. This is the regular (and proven) way of merchandising we know but is it possible to do it the other way around without losing the high impact? Well, it is, at least for a celebrity like Drake.
Besides launching the second Nocta collection, the Toronto rapper has recently been giving tiny signs about his upcoming sixth studio album in a slightly different way than the others in the game – though the release date of the ‘Certified Lover Boy’ album has not been announced yet, we might already know how the official merchandise will look like.
Instead of actually sharing videos from recording studio sessions or maybe leaking some tune teasers, Champagne Papi gave his fans a first look at apparel that is rumored to be the official merch for the CLB album. In collaboration with LA-based label Chrome Hearts, the collection could include hoodies, tees and sweatpants featured with Chrome Hearts’ signature gothic script and crosses alongside Certified Lover Boy’s hearts.
The apparel was teased in an Instagram post by Chubbs, one of Drake’s OVO crew members, and also by the rap star himself, who was spotted in a beige Chrome Hearts x CLB hoodie in the video for his latest song ‘What’s next’.
