Don’t Sweat Ya Sweaters: 7 Pullovers To Carry Into Spring

We have you covered with our top 7 transeasonal warmers.

POSTED BY REBECCA AHERN

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. (Sorry) No, in all seriousness we are fully into pullover season and with hopefully the worst of the winter months behind us, it’s time to shed that winter skin and bring some colour into our lives. A  pullover isn’t just for Christmas, or Jan or Feb so we present to you our most-loved transeasonal sweaters that you can take with you all the way through to spring.

1. The Big Splash, House of Sunny $125

Injecting some true colours of happiness into our lives is this ray of blue sky from House of Sunny. Named The Big Splash, it has us thinking of post-covid holidays and deep-sea diving with an alcoholic bevvie or two. Whisk us away already. Pair with a leg-liberating wide-leg jean, sneakers and you can call it a day.

2. The Meryl, Le Semaine Paris $210

Give us a forest green knit any day of the week. This flared sleeved cable-knit is reminiscent of
summer days in the garden and if it wasn’t green enough already, this baby is made from a recycled wool mix. Fun fact: you can shop days of the week on their website which we love to! “On Wednesday’s we wear pink”. Le Semaine also use proceeds from your first order to contribute to the planting of a tree in Kenya so we don’t see what's not to like here. We’d wear ours with a light blue mom jean.

3. Osteria Open Back Sweater by Reformation $335

Business in the front, party in the back. This cream of dreams mock-neck has us reaching for some slouchy wide-leg pants in the same shade. With a slim fit bodice and blouson sleeve (do we spot a trend here) its a great elevated basic. Grab a leather jacket of the same shade and go full tonal! This sustainable sweater may not be bra-friendly but environmentally it certainly is, with Reformation listing their water, waste and CO2 savings.

4. The 1970 Jumper, Bella Freud $425

Inspired by the NY early punk scene in the ’70s, the iconic 1970 range from Bella Freud is always a good bet. Go for that crisp spring morning all-black-everything with dark skinnies and a tractor boot to attack the day. Throw your vegan leather staple over your shoulder and baby we good to go. Don’t forget those oversized shades for maximum F-you output. She’s made form 100% merino wool so she’ll be soft as hell.

5. Alpaca-blend Cardigan, H&M $55

H&M may actually be our secret underdog. A cult favourite, their quality really speaks volume for their knitwear. Lemon, lemon, lemon…the real colour of spring/summer last year and we forecast the trend to be even better in 2021. This boxy pastel cardigan, with a drop shoulder and cropped cut can be styled with the top of the same material and back to our denim faves. Lemon and denim…a match made in heaven.

6. Blue Tie Dye Co-ord, Noisy May Curve (exclusive to Asos) $35

Oh yeah, we’re still loving tie-dye! It was the pattern of the year in 2020 among most shop-a-holics and we are going for tie dye gold again this spring. A steal at $35, this set is exclusive to the ASOS range so happy shopping! Obviously buy the matching sweats and off you skip into spring/summer heaven. If only a matching beanie…

7. The Adonis Sweater, Stine Goya $275

Copenhagen label, Stine Goya has taken the classic stripe sweater and flipped it on its head. Throwing tradition out the window, the contrasted navy and baby blue stripes are giving us L-I-F-E. With another blouson sleeve to back up our trend predictions (just saying) we’re going to style this with a slim leather pant and a chunky AF sneaker. Praise the elevated basics.
