The Biggest SS21 Accessory Trends
A guide to becoming the ultimate Pinterest girl.
2020 was a very unpredictable year for a whole host of reasons, but it certainly sparked a new love for loungewear and comfort clothes, as we sought to update our work from home wardrobes. Although the tie-dye trends might be behind us, research has shown that nostalgia can in fact bring us a sense of comfort in times of crisis, so perhaps it’s no surprise that the resurgence of 90s and noughties inspired styles are continuing to dominate our Pinterest feeds.
With this in mind, SS21 is encroaching fast upon us, with big fashion houses giving us some sense of what trends we might expect to see in their runway launches last year. So, let’s take a look at some of this year’s expected accessory trends:
Oversized gold pendant necklaces
Runways were filled with oversized gold pendant necklaces from designers such as Fendi, to large statement earrings form designers like Stella McCartney.
Chain style belts
Chain style belts are beginning to pop-up all-over Pinterest, as a nice new edition to pair with knitwear for the spring season.
90’s style hair clips
90’s style hair clips were worn by several celebrities last year as they dominated the classic ‘model off-duty’ look, so it’s no surprise we’re still seeing them this year.
Fuzzy style bucket hats
Another trend from last year making a comeback is the fuzzy style bucket hats that are available in a variety of fun patterns and colors. That hats became very popular as they acted as a nice transition from soft winter beanies to summer festival style.
Pearls
Pearls are also having a fairly big moment within jewelery as designers like Simone Rocha have introduced them into their collections.
Layering necklace
Layering necklaces was also seen on the SS21 runways, with paper-clip style link gold and silver chains expected to stay trendy for this new season.
