Dolls Kill Called The Police On BLM Protestors, And SZA Was Having None Of It

With some extra smoke from Rico Nasty.

Everyone’s now ex-favourite punk apparel brand Dolls Kill has embarrassed itself. Owner of the brand, Shoddy Lynn, posted a pic to her Instagram showing over 20 police officers protecting the Los Angeles store with the caption “Direct Action in its glory.” Sis, read the room.

In response, fans and celebs began to criticise Dolls Kill for their tone-deaf reaction to protests of Black people fighting for their fundamental human rights, prompting the brand to post an apology. The post read “We fucked up. We should have been quicker + louder,” then stating that they will be committing $1 million to purchase products from black-owned fashion brand and designers to feature on the site. And that’s great and all but… where was this energy before?

Queen SZA commented on the apology with “You called the cops on protestors???? ….wow,” and Rico Nasty later shared that the brand had unfollowed her, adding a tasteful Kanye gif. If these two are done with you then… what can we say?

Dolls Kill, you’re over.
