‘Doe Eyes’ By Orchid Is Out
The working title: fuckgirl anthem.
The world needs new, inspiring, charismatic pop idols and Orchid ticks every box to become one. She’s an Iranian-British, multitalented producer, songwriter and vocalist. She couldn’t prove her position as an up-and-coming pop star better than with her newest single, ‘Doe Eyes’, a UKG influenced Y2K pop banger and self-professed ‘fuckgirl anthem.’
Orchid is very generous because she releases a music video alongside her powerful song, born out of a collaboration with the director, Pierce Gabriel.
She summarizes the clip as ‘something chaotic and dumb that shapeshifted through some kind of split-personality, emotionally conflicted, cartoonish hell that felt as sweetly venomous as the song - a whole hot mess, basically.’ She also admits that ‘in a perfect world, I always imagined the video would be a high-speed chase in a storm, somewhere between The Matrix and Space Jam. Obviously, that was, let's say... just a little out of reach.’ The final effect is still worth your attention, though.
