Depop ‘Til You Drop
Stay home, scroll, and support others like you.
I’m sure you’ve all heard of Depop and if you haven’t, well do you live under a rock? With 13 million users having on average 85 million interactions per month on the app, it’s truly one of the best sell platforms there is. As it’s 100% revenue growth continues year by year, Depop strengthens the phrase “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
Normally, items will sell cheaper than stores are selling. Which is great for the consumer in these struggling times. A t-shirt from a high street store is devalued the moment you take the tag off. You buy something second-hand, then decide you don’t want it anymore, you could sell it on Depop for the same price you brought it for. As the world turns deeper into a climate emergency, it’s predicted that fashion creates 233% more emissions than aircrafts. It’s figures like these that are prompting Gen Z’s to shop from places other than the big brand stores.
There is something exciting about getting new clothes, but new to you doesn’t always need to be new. From Gucci to Primark you can shop the lot. Even charities have been getting in on the action by selling their stock on their too. In a time where shopping out and about is difficult, stay home, scroll, and support others like you. You never know, you might think of something you want to sell.
