Crocs And Awake NY Drop “Home Is Where The Heart Is” Collaboration

They're Crocs, but not as you know them.

POSTED BY JOANNA PSAROS

New York streetwear label Awake NY have teamed up with none other than Crocs for a new capsule collection inspired by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The line, dubbed “Home is Where the Heart is,” features two styles of the inimitable rubber shoe; one featuring a pattern of blue hearts on a violet background, the other white hearts on black. It’s a design that Awake NY’s founder and creative director Angelo Baque (also the former brand director of iconic label Supreme) chose for good reason, with Baque expressing his intention to reflect the importance of home and family in the context of a universally challenging few years

“Whether we were physically with family or connecting electronically with chosen family, it’s the people we love that have helped us through this uncertain time,” he explained in the brand’s press release.

“The concept of ‘family’ has evolved, especially in the face of the pandemic. Whether it’s family that’s blood-related or not, the ones closest to us have gotten us through this past year and a half.”

The release coincided with a casually and characteristically cool accompanying campaign that features Baque’s real-world family and friends including Swizz Beatz and Chace Infinite.
