Iconic musician Courtney Love revealed the true reason she quit her acting career on Instagram earlier this week.

“For a few years, because of Milos Forman, I was a professional actress and a movie star. It was fun as hell,” explains the former Hole front woman. Love goes on to explain “I love acting… I stopped being capable of it after a bunch of #metoos.”

Love was cast as one of the leads in Forman’s 1996 film The People vs Larry Flynt. This performance went on to earn her a Golden Globe nomination and critical acclaim as an actress as well as a musician. Love went on to feature in Forman’s 1999 film Man on the Moon too.

In regards to the ‘me toos’ love states “One day I might talk about it,” and “No one would believe me, and it wouldn’t stop. So I left, and it left. And I’m good with it.” Thankfully, Love seems to be at peace with the past, however, this doesn’t remove the horror that it happened. Though Love isn’t ready to speak on her own experiences, she has previously been transparent and outspoken about the danger of certain industry figures. Even back in 2005 Love was warning actors to avoid Harvey Weinstein.

Love doesn’t seem to have any acting in the works at the moment, however she did return to our screens in 2017 in a smaller part in the TV movie on the Mendez brothers.

Good news for fans as Love has recently announced she’s working on a solo album and for any hardcore fans she’s also hinted at the possibility of a Hole reunion. Hopefully Miss World is coming back!
