Controversial Ziwe Fumudoh Speaks On How Make Up And Satire Play Into Her Instagram Live Take Show

How beauty, wit and politics co-exist.

POSTED BY RACHEL OSHO

Gritty satire and uncomfortable questions - a recipe for perfect live comedy show. Reaching almost 20,000 views on her Instagram live show just last week it is clear to see why comedian and beauty columnist Ziwe Fumudoh is so popular.

Contrary to most entertainers, Ziwe’s unorthodox approach to her show combines her witty charm and love for beauty to approach serious political issues like race and class. In an interview will Allure she says “I like the idea of incorporating beauty into really substantive conversations about blackface and being a white ally.”

Whilst her bold white liner and lip gloss are iconic to her character it would be hard to imagine how beauty and politics are topics that could co-exist however Ziwe effortlessly does this all whilst making it funny.

One twitter user @kaichoyce says “This show is ridiculous, and I think I love it.”
