Chloé Inspires Femininity At Paris Fashion Week With Eco-Friendly Collection
Pack your bags! We’re taking a virtual trip to the cobbled streets of Paris.
Kicking off her first FW21 collection for the French fashion house, Chloé, it’s only right for Gabriela Hearst to debut her designs down the cobbled streets of Paris during Paris Fashion Week. The dreamy runway show took place one evening in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
Considering the designer had only two months to put the collection together, Hearst has done brilliantly to continue the aesthetic of Chloé founder, Gaby Aghion, who would have been 100 years old this week. Having been a long-time loyal Chloé customer, Hearst admitted her subconscious familiarity with the visual language of the house: a brand designed by a woman talking to women.
A cast of models started the digital presentation by stepping out of Brasserie Lipp – a French restaurant where Aghion used to stage her first shows. The 70s bohemian attire is refreshed with youthful doses of color and relaxed styles. Stripes took center stage, patterned across maxi silhouettes and sweater dresses in natural hues of brown, orange and maroon. Cozy shearling coats and cape-like outerwear vary in length, with the poncho making a comeback! Slouchy bags are paired with edgy, stompy boots. Hearst herself closed the show, modelling the last textured look down the runway.
The collection praises female empowerment and eco-friendly elements of sustainability. Chloé promises to lessen the brand’s impact on global climate; according to Hearst, this collection is four times more sustainable than last year’s FW, thanks to the utilization of recycled yarns. We wish the designer all the best for what’s to come in future!
