Chappell Roan Turns Pop Power Into a Lifeline for LGBTQ+ Youth

Midwest Princess Project: music as activism.

POSTED BY EMMA AUBIE

Chappell Roan is taking her platform beyond the stage with the launch of the Midwest Princess Project, a nonprofit supporting trans and LGBTQ+ youth. Over $400,000 has already been raised, partly from her sold-out Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things pop-up tour, with proceeds going to vital organizations like the Ali Forney Center in New York, Trans Wellness Center in Los Angeles, and The GLO Center in Missouri.

Creating Safe Spaces On and Off Stage

Every ticket sold contributes directly to resources for trans youth, and Roan has teamed up with Propeller and eBay for special activations during her shows. Known for her fierce advocacy, she’s also prioritized eco-friendly tours, mental health support for staff, and fair ticket pricing for fans. With the Midwest Princess Project, Roan is proving that music can be a radical act of care, a stage for social justice, and a beacon of community for marginalized voices.
