How I’m Channelling My Inner Carrie Bradshaw This Cold-Weather Season
Cold-weather style, Carrie Bradshaw–inspired.
If there’s one TV wardrobe that has always captured my attention, it’s Carrie Bradshaw’s. I’ve always admired the way she fearlessly mixes vintage finds with high-fashion pieces, layering bold patterns, textures, and statement accessories in a way that feels effortless yet iconic, whether she’s striding down the streets of Manhattan or sitting in a café.
Lately, I’ve noticed a full-blown Carrie revival on TikTok. Creators are styling and recreating her most unforgettable looks, and I can’t help but get inspired every time I scroll. It made me realise that Carrie’s style isn’t just about nostalgia, it’s a blueprint for dressing, even when the temperatures drop.
This season, I decided to bring a little of that Bradshaw energy into my own autumn and winter wardrobe. Here’s how I’ve been channeling my inner Carrie for the colder months, from statement coats to twirly skirts and boots that actually get noticed.
Statement Coats
Carrie once declared, “I like my money right where I can see it, hanging in my closet.” Her coats were always showstoppers, from oversized plaids to luxurious faux fur. This season, I’ve been on the hunt for jackets that make a statement but are wearable in the real world. Think longline blazers from Zara, classic trench coats from Mango, or colourful faux fur from & Other Stories. The key is to choose a coat that feels like the centerpiece of your outfit.
Chunky Knit Sweaters
Carrie was never afraid of a cozy moment; she would pair slouchy knits with sky-high heels. That balance of comfort and glamour is the ultimate trick I am taking into my cold-weather wardrobe. I’m looking for chunky cable knits or quirky patterned jumpers, for that effortless “I just threw this on” Bradshaw vibe.

Twirly Skirts & Dresses
Who could ever forget the tutu in the opening credits? Carrie taught us that skirts are for spinning rain, snow, or shine. For this Autumn/Winter, I am taking inspiration from her many flowy skirts and styling them with boots and statement coats. From ruffled and silk midis to patterned maxis layered with tights.

Accessories That Make the Look
Carrie showed us that accessories aren’t just finishing touches; they’re the highlight of an outfit. From her iconic nameplate necklace to oversized bracelets, she knew how to make every detail count. This autumn and winter, I’m taking a page from her book by letting scarves, gloves, and hats do the talking, whether through a pop of colour or a rich texture.

Boots That Walk the Talk
Sex and the City was practically a love letter to shoes, and while Carrie is best known for her Manolos, boots were her go-to when the weather turned cold. This season, I’m bringing a bit of that Bradshaw edge into my own wardrobe with ankle boots or knee-highs, often paired with chunky socks for an effortless winter look.

For me, channelling Carrie this season isn’t about copying her looks; it’s about her attitude. She wore what she loved and made it work, no matter the weather. So as the days get colder, I’m focusing on pieces that feel bold but easy to wear, the kind of outfits that make you actually want to go out, even when it’s freezing.
