Caroline Romano's "IDK These Days": Raw Honesty And Existential Dread

A stripped-down preview of her upcoming EP

POSTED BY ZOE TYLER

Caroline Romano is back, and she’s keeping it realer than ever. The Nashville-based alt-pop powerhouse just released her latest single, “IDK These Days,” a stripped-down, emotionally charged preview of her upcoming EP, How The Good Girls Die, out February 21st.

Following a run of fire tracks like “Body Bag,” “Pretty Boys,” and “Born To Want More”, “IDK These Days” dials into a raw, frustrated, and painfully relatable headspace. Romano’s haunting vocals glide over a minimalist arrangement, letting the song’s aching honesty hit hard. “I wrote this during a period of inexplicable anger and frustration,” she shares. “It’s about those little things—like snow and traffic—that suddenly feel like the end of the world. When even your mom notices something’s off, and you can’t explain why.”

If you’ve ever felt stuck in a loop of existential dread, this track is going to hit way too close to home. Caroline describes it as a snapshot of emotional turbulence, capturing that helpless feeling when someone asks how you are, and all you can muster is, “I don’t know these days.”

Romano has been steadily making waves since her 2022 debut album Oddities and Prodigies, proving she can seamlessly switch between misty-eyed ballads and punchy alt-rock anthems. With How The Good Girls Die, she’s diving even deeper—expect unfiltered storytelling, vulnerability, and some serious sonic growth.

If “IDK These Days” is any indication, this EP is about to wreck us in the best way possible. Stream the track now and pre-save How The Good Girls Die before it drops on February 21st.
