Birkenstock x Repetto Is The Shoe Collab Of My Dreams

The comfort-meets-couture pairing I never saw coming.

A couple of weeks ago, during my usual Instagram scroll, I came across some exciting news: Birkenstock and Repetto were collaborating on a shoe collection. Truthfully, at first I honestly couldn’t picture how these two brands could come together. I have a friend who literally calls my Bostons my “homeless-core shoes” (harsh), while Repetto’s signature ballerina pumps are pure Parisian chic. So how could the two possibly combine to create a cohesive—and, let’s be honest, stylish—collection?

After previewing the collection, they truly exceeded my expectations—I want every single pair. July 16th can’t come soon enough; I need these shoes in my wardrobe yesterday!

First up are reworked Arizona Sandals with round buckles, an ultra-feminine gingham print and shiny patent leather. Meanwhile, the Opéra—very Boston-esque—comes with a satin ribbon to tie around the ankle like pointe shoes (similar to the Louboutin Cassia Lace Ups), plus delicate bows. The final style in the collection might just be my favourite: the Scala. Combining elements of the previous two, it’s the closest to a classic Repetto ballerina, with a rounded toe, patent leather, a gingham print, bows, and two dainty top straps. All styles come in three of Repetto’s signature colours: Iconic Pink, Flame Red, and Profound Black.

I can definitely see myself wearing the Arizonas with a linen summer dress or the Scalas with capris and a tee. They’re perfect for so many occasions: the Birkenstock influence keeps them comfortable enough for everyday wear, while Repetto’s touch makes them polished enough for a more dressed-up moment. These shoes are the perfect balance of practicality and playfulness, proving that comfort doesn’t have to mean sacrificing style. I can’t wait to get my hands on a pair and start experimenting with all the outfit combinations.
