Beyoncé Helps Fellow Texans Hit By Winter Storm
Of course Bey’s stepped up to do good in the world.
Houston, Texas native, Beyoncé, is taking initiative to help out those impacted by the recent winter storm.
Millions of Texans have been without heat and electricity this past week due to being hit hard by storm Uri, resulting in freezing temperatures and ice cold weather. Although power has now been restored to people’s homes, there’s an ongoing water crisis because of busted water pipes.
Beyoncé is stepping in for her fellow Texans with her foundation BeyGOOD, teaming up with Adidas and Houston disaster relief organization, Bread of Life, to give $1,000 to those in need.
As stated on BeyGOOD’s Instagram, “We continue to stand with the community, as we work our way out of the storm. We’re all in this together. Each and every one of us can make a difference by giving back.”
In addition, BeyGOOD is working together with American rapper, Trae tha Truth, to provide water. Not only have they distributed cases of water per family/vehicle to 8000 affected in Houston, they’ve also supplied 1000 hot meals so far.
Texas residents and other states affected by these storms can apply for assistance here. If you’d like to join Beyoncé and bring urgent relief to those suffering, Bread of Life is accepting donations on their website. Similarly, you can read more about ways of helping here.
