Bandage dresses are inescapable right now. Reminiscent of 2000s parties, they're tight, shiny, and definitely an attention-stealer.

I had my reservations at first. The lines give them a slinky, almost futuristic feel that isn't really synonymous with my style. I also feel like they're hard to dress up. When a dress is already so figure-hugging and attention-grabbing, it can feel like there isn't much else you can add without going overboard.

Then again, they look SO stunning with a hoop earring and chunky heel. And they have a boldness that I respect. In a world where "jeans and a nice top" has become typical party attire, I will forever fight for minidresses.

I think what has really won me over is the unapologetic glamour of them. There's something very 2000s about putting on a dress that isn't trying to be subtle. You don't have to wonder whether it's going to make an impact—it absolutely will.

They also have a holiday feel about them. Like wearing one would transport you onto a yacht with a cocktail in your hand. Maybe it's the surge of influencers donning them, or seeing all my mutuals' holiday Instagram posts that's fueling my fascination with this dress, but either way, they feel like a 2026 summer staple.

And while I might not usually reach for something this bold, I think that's exactly why I'm tempted. Fashion is more fun when you occasionally wear something that feels a little outside your comfort zone.
