Showcased on the red carpet by Balenciaga’s close friends, models, and atelier staff
Balenciaga reinvented the classic Hollywood red carpet to display its latest Spring/Summer 2022 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Close friends, models, and team members of the fashion house were invited to walk the red carpet in the newly designed pieces, thereby, turning the premiere event into the runway show itself. A starry roster of celebrities also appeared at the glamorous event, including Cardi B, Offset, Lewis Hamilton, and Naomi Campbell.
This season, Balenciaga included a wide range of clothing from exquisite evening wear to tailored streetwear. The red carpet was graced with elegant, couture gowns, which reflect the depth and illustrious style of the brand. The collection also included oversized tuxedo wear blended with streetwear, creating an eclectic look that is authentic to Balenciaga. The Defender, a new super-chunky sneaker with featured tire tread, made its debut on the red carpet as well as an updated version of the Space Shoe, designed out of an innovative single mold.
Creative director, Demna Gvasalia succeeded in blurring the lines between formal and street wear, crafting an experimental aesthetic that continues to push the boundaries of high fashion. Check out the Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2022 collection above.
