Balenciaga’s New LED Shades Are LIT

Forget light up Sneakers, for 2020 LED sunglasses are where it’s at. Balenciaga debuted their new shades (which we have dubbed as the light-up sneakers of our generation) at their SS20 runway show last week. 

Never one to shy away from experimental accessories, these shades are a fusion of the ‘90s light-up trend and modern sensory tech, and it just freaking works.

The black wide-armed frames light up with the Balenciaga branding, which is triggered when the arms are extended. The LED design can light up in various colors and configurations. And you can even charge them as you would charge your phone through a USB cable. No need to carry extra cables in your handbag! 

This year Demna Gvaslia’s creative vision has not only called for a reinvention of power dressing for work but, she has also dreamed up a series of wearable, tech-inspired utopian accessories, of which the LED sunglasses might just be our favorite.
