Bad Bunny Kicks Off 2025 In Style: New Album, New Look, Same Fashion Boy Energy

He should've snapped more pics of those outfits!

Bad Bunny has started the year on a high note, releasing his sixth studio album, Debí Tiarar Más Fotos (I Should’ve Taken More Pictures), on January 5th. However, the start of the Puerto Rican superstar's new era is not just about music. The album debut came with a fresh look, proving once again that Benito is as much a style icon as he is a chart-topper.

Known for hits like “Titi Me Preguntó,” “MONACO,” and “DAKITI,” Bad Bunny is one of the most significant figures in Latin urban music and has recently become a prominent name in the fashion industry. From being the face of Jacquemus’ February 2024 campaign, Les Sculptures, to becoming the first man to grace the cover of Vogue Italia in August 2024, he’s fully embraced his role as a fashion boy. His co-hosting of the 2024 Met Gala alongside none other than Zendaya solidified the image he’s been outlining for the past few years- that of someone with growing influence on the global fashion stage.

Bad Bunny’s Style Evolution: From Combining Strident Prints to Breaking Gender Norms

Benito’s style has always been eclectic, and he’s never been one to shy away from bold, experimental choices. Think back to his early award show appearances: the yellow floral Gucci suit at the 2017 Latin American Music Awards or his striped pants and blue skull-flame shirt (complete with a third eye drawn on his forehead) at the 2018 American Music Awards.

Over time, Bad Bunny’s approach to fashion has matured, evolving from statement sunglasses, rhinestones, and loud prints to more cohesive, high-fashion looks. Yet, his commitment to authentic self-expression remains unwavering. His appearances now usually blend masculine and feminine elements, like the trompe l’oeil bathing suit imprint top from Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 1996 collection at the 2023 Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix or the Jacquemus tweed blazer with an open back and rosette-train cape he wore to the Met Gala. Not to mention the Mugler corset he had on during his headlining performance for Coachella 2023 or his other iconic appearances in skirts, dresses, and crop tops—all of which help redefine gender norms.

When Fashion Meets Music

Given the singer's strong connection with the fashion industry, it is no wonder that he often uses clothing as a tool to embody new creative eras. Ahead of the release of Debí Tiarar Más Fotos, Benito made several surprise appearances at other Latin artists’ concerts, unveiling a new look emblematic of his latest album.

This new aesthetic feels like a natural evolution from his Nadie Va a Saber Que Va a Pasar Mañana (2023) era, which leaned into cowboy chic with tailored suits and denim-on-denim looks. Now, he is mixing classic silhouettes with baggier cuts and playful winter accessories. Among the standout elements of this look are the accessories—a fuzzy trapper hat, vibrant orange gloves, and a vintage film camera worn around his neck or shoulder. While the winter accessories disrupted the outfit’s formality in true Bad Bunny fashion, the vintage camera tied it all together, perfectly reflecting the theme of capturing fleeting moments of the new album.

Bad Bunny’s ability to seamlessly merge his wardrobe with his artistry speaks volumes about his dual role as a music and fashion icon. Guided by unapologetic individuality, his clothing choices challenge norms and drive change, paving the way for a more liberating fashion expression in the reggaeton world. 2025 is shaping up to be another year of dominance for El Conejo Malo, and I cannot wait to see what outfits he has in store (especially for the tour)!
