Ariana Grande Has Finally Responded To Fans Who Think She Came Out As Bisexual

Are the “monopoly” lyrics telling?

Way back in November fans of Ariana Grande were freaking out thinking she had come out. When she released ‘thank, u, next’, Apple Music made a mistake with the lyrics which lads fans into meltdown thinking she was bisexual or pansexual.

The lyric sheet read: “Plus I met someone else. We havin’ better discussions. I know they say I move on too fast but this one gon’ last. Cause her name is Aubrey”

However, she wasn’t singing about a girl called Aubrey instead she was singing about ‘Ari’ (herself).

But now fans are back to claiming she’s coming out due to her latest song ‘Monopoly.’ The song is a collab with Victoria Monet and features the lyric: “I like women and men (yeah).” This has led to a huge reaction by fans on Twitter congratulating her on coming out.

Others have been quick to point out that she has specified if she’s bi, pan, queer or anything else. Others have suggested that she may be ‘queerbaiting’ by hinting that’s she bi to appeal to her LQBTQ+ audience.

It has also been pointed out that we don’t know if it’s Ariana or Victoria singing that line so people should wait before calling her queer.

Ariana has finally joined the conversation, replying to a fan who said: “Ariana ain’t gotta label herself, but she said what she said.”

Ariana replied: “I haven’t before and still don’t feel the need to now which okay” along with the black heart and fairy emoji.

Back in February Ariana received backlash online after it was announced that she would be headlining Manchester Pride and that consequently tickets were sky-rocketing.

Many people claimed she was “exploring the community”  and that it was wrong for a straight women to get the top spot at Pride.

Whether Ariana is coming out or not, the reaction to this news shows that there needs to be more bi and pan celebrity role models.
