An Adidas X Balenciaga Collab Is Finally Here
The brand's Spring 2023 collection proved the rumors correct.
Balenciaga models stomped down the runway in the new adidas x Balenciaga collaboration among the illuminated screens of the iconic New York Stock Exchange trading floor. Demna Gvasalia’s Spring 2023 collection for Balenciaga confirmed the highly speculated partnership between the historic fashion house and the legendary sportswear brand.
Gvasalia split the collection into three sections, with the collaboration coming at the tail end of the show. It followed the first part, with ‘80s-inspired workwear with towering shoulder pads and silk pussycat bows. The second part saw elements of evening wear. Full latex face masks, a classic Gvasalia twist, threaded the sections together. After building anticipation, the third section finally revealed the adidas collab.
The text “balenciaga” replaced the text on the adidias Trefoil and Three Stripe logos, with the brands meshing identities. The new logos stamped oversized basics, seen on loose-fitted t-shirts, hoodies, and tracksuits. The logos were also seen on outerwear of robes, windbreakers, bomber jackets, and jean jackets. The shoe wear saw an update to Balenciaga’s popular Triple-S and Speed Trainers, now with the adidas Trefoil logo. Other accessories included a hat, socks, and face mask, all displaying the new collaborative design.
The collaboration is available to shop now on Balenciaga’s website. The Triple-S and Speed Trainers retain their usual pricing, despite the collaborative branding.
