7 Hair And Beauty Products You Need While You Can’t Leave The House

Your face will thank you, promise.

POSTED BY KIM WALLACE

So, we’ve established that we’re bored in the house and we’re in the house bored, we’ve done jigsaws, baked banana bread and made 400 Dalgona coffees. Instead of trying to find ANOTHER hobby to waste away the hours, why not give your skin a helping hand while you’re cooped up indoors.

Here are some products we’ve been using and loving throughout isolation;

Starface Glow Stars - $34

Being indoors can cause oily skin which annoyingly can lead to more spots. US-based brand Starface has just launched glow in the dark pimple patches and we are OBSESSED. The 32 patches come in a super cute reusable plastic case named ‘Big Yellow’, pop one on your pimple overnight to reduce angry spots and redness. Wear them even if you don’t have a pimple and just want cute stars on your face. You do you.

Glow stars launched a few days ago and are already in high demand, however, the original yellow “Hydro-Stars” are also available here.

The Ordinary Buffet - $17.30

We love The Ordinary for giving us serious skincare at really reasonable prices. ‘Buffet’ is a peptide serum made of skin-friendly amino acids including hyaluronic acid which is an amazing hydrator for your skin. Apply in between your cleanser and moisturizer, your face will drink it up and thank you. Perfect for when you’re stuck indoors, buy it here.

John Frieda Hydrate & Recharge Deep Soak Masque - $8.39

One thing is for sure, most of us will need haircuts when the lockdown is over. Massage John Frieda’s Hydrate & Recharge hair mask to your dry ends and leave to soak for 5 minutes. Not only will your hair smell like delicious lollipops but your split ends will get through the next few weeks. A 250ml tub is less than $10 and a little goes a long way, get some here.

Eyelure Pro-Brow Dye Kit - $10

The only thing that looks worse than our hair right now is our eyebrows, BUT this is a perfect chance to grow those babies out if you’ve overplucked in the past. If you would like to add a bit of definition to your brows, have no fear with Eyelure’s DIY dye kit. Protect around your eyes with some petroleum jelly, leave the dye on for 10 mins and wipe clean. Disaster free zone. Order yours here

Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Facial Spray - $19

Your skin will be crying out for hydration right now. Also, if you find yourself napping or feeling sluggish in the afternoon, Herbivore’s Rose Facial spray is a lovely refresher to perk you and your skin up. This spray has a light rose scent and comes in a cute, Instagram-able bottle. It’s also great for setting makeup if you can be bothered to paint your face in these strange times. Get yours here.

Face Period, Tired or Sweaty Face Masks - $28

Faace is a new UK skincare brand offering 3 unique masks which offer different result. Pick your favorite out of Period, Tired or Sweaty and slather your Faace. The masks can be left on overnight or used as a primer, but we feel we get the best results when applied thickly, left on for 15 minutes and rinsed off. Faace has teamed up with Hey Girls initiative and donate a pack of period products to those in need for every mask sold.

As Faace is a new brand, shipping outside of the UK can be pricey but what else are you spending your $ on right now? Buy yours here.

Versed - The Shortcut Overnight Facial Peel - $24

You may have seen this brand on Insta as the pastel-colored packaging is oh so ‘grammable. Versed Overnight Peel may sound scary but is basically a gentle overnight mask, containing vitamin A, vitamin E, and rosehip. Apply a thin layer before bed, rinse in the morning and be greeted with brighter, hydrated and more even skin tone. It’s a win-win. Check it out here.
