5 Things You Should Never Do To Your Skin
Your future self will thank you.
We Fizzy Mag girls believe caring for your skin is immensely important. After all, it is your body’s largest organ. Caring for your skin also helps skin fight signs of aging, heal faster and keep healthy. To keep your skin fresh and healthy at all times, here are five things you should NOT be doing:
1. Over-Exfoliating
Exfoliating your skin is a great step to include in your skincare routine. Exfoliation removes the build-up of dead skin cells which can result in excess oil and clogged pores, leading to blemishes and acne.
However, there is such a thing as too much exfoliation. Over-exfoliating your skin can dry out the skin, disrupt its natural PH balance which results in the skin producing more oil to compensate. If you have dry or sensitive skin, exfoliate once a week. For normal and combination skin, twice a week. And, for oily and combination skin, three times a week.

Popping Pimples
Though it may be tempting, popping pimples is never a good idea. Popping or squeezing a pimple won’t get rid of the problem but only make it worse. Squeezing a pimple can push bacteria and pus deeper into the skin which can result in more swelling and redness. Popping a pimple will most likely scar and scars take forever to fade. So, the next time you have the urge to pop your pimple, apply some Mario Badescu Drying Lotion on it with a cotton swab as this product helps clear up pimples, blemishes and whiteheads overnight without causing irritation to the skin.

3. Sleeping in Makeup
Sleeping in makeup is a bad idea for your skin and sheets. If you sleep in makeup regularly, it can take a serious toll on your skin resulting in breakouts, eye irritation, and dryness. Loved by Drew Barrymore and Khloe Kardashian, Bioderma Sensibio H20 makeup removing water uses micelles which capture impurities whilst also maintaining your skin’s balance and its phospholipids (lipids which keep your skin soft and hydrated).

4. Ditching SPF
Sunblock should not only be used during the summer but all year round because ultraviolet which is invisible radiation, is present even in the winter months. Not wearing sunblock can significantly damage the skin as the sun destroys collagen which can cause the skin to sag, wrinkles and dark spots. Also, sunblock helps protect your skin from cancer-causing UV rays. Look for a facial SPF of at least factor 30, and a UVA rating of 4-stars or higher (or PA +++). Supergoop 100% Mineral Smooth and Poreless Matte Screen contains an SPF of 40 and is lightweight and easy to blend into the skin.

5. Neglecting your Neck
If you’ve read our skincare rules, you’ll know how to keep your face clean and healthy but what people tend to forget about, and neglect is their neck. We often add makeup such as foundation and bronzer to our neck in order for it to blend seamlessly with our face makeup. However, our skincare regime should continue to our neck. Cleansing and moisturizing your neck is important as it helps decrease the appearance of wrinkles and dryness. Just remember to use gentle, upward strokes on your neck when applying moisturizer. Kielhs Ultra Facial Moisturizer is hydrating and absorbs easily into the skin, keeping it soft and smooth.
