Applications for Black Ambition, a non-profit organization, are open for Black and Latinx entrepreneurs. Started by Pharrell Williams two years ago, Black Ambition is an annual prize competition that gives capital and access to budding entrepreneurs.

Eligible applicants can pitch ventures related to consumer products and services, media and entertainment, healthcare, technology and Web 3.0. The winner can receive up to $1,000,000 in funding along with access to mentorships and networking opportunities.

Williams told Essence in a statement about the initiative, “...if we want representation, we want great access to healthcare, we want great access to education, then we need more Black and brown entrepreneurs.”

Last year, there were 34 prize winners, 250 entrepreneurs that received mentorship, and $3.2 million dollars awarded to finalists. Adidas, Lennar Foundation, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Visa, CHANEL, Heineken, Billionaire Boys Club are just some of this year’s partners that will help fund dreams.
