‘Le Domaine’ Brad Pitts New Vegan, Genderless Skincare Range
Mr Smith is here and ready to break into the beauty world!
Brad Pitt has officially launched Le Domaine, a vegan, sustainable, gender-neutral skincare line in partnership with the Perrin family. Their products include a cream, serum, fluid cream and cleansing emulsion, with the price ranging $70 - $385.
“I don't know if it's just that I believe in being all-inclusive as much as possible? - us guys needing help from others in understanding how we can treat our skin better?”
Despite not wanting to be the face of the brand, he has been fully hands-on behind the scenes, immersing himself with the ‘concepts and developments’ of the products. With ‘over 15 years’ of research into the brand, they have incorporated into their products; GSM10 ‘an exclusive molecule’, Grenache grape seeds, as well as the skin and seeds of Syrah and Mourvèdre grapes. A benefit of using these ingredients is that they aid in breaking down collagen, reducing the signs of aging. Finding the right grapes with the ‘most relevant antioxidant properties’, to grow on their land was vital.
Alongside this, they expanded their knowledge of the rare genetic disorder Progeria, which increases the aging process in young children. Professor Nicolas Lévy developed PrGr3, designed to help skin cells remain healthier for longer. With this in mind, PrGr3 became an ‘active ingredient’ within Le Domaine products.
“I remember reading about the health properties of grape skins as something we wanted to investigate.”
The actor makes sure everything remains organic, with the farming being done ‘biodynamically’ meaning no pesticides are used. And the products are refillable with wooden caps that are ‘recycled from old wine casks’.
“And a big part of it is sustainability, this idea of zero waste is something that is really important to this area and important to me.”
