Who could forget the iconic return of ABBA? 40 years after the group was active, ABBA shocked the world with their return and a brand new album. Not only did the group reach the UK top ten for the first time in decades, they were also nominated for their first ever Grammy making it an incredible year for ABBA and their fanbase.
Olivia Rodrigo Makes Her Musical Debut
Starting her career with a role's in Disney shows, Olivia Rodrigo took the world by storm with her debut album Sour. Before its release the artist already had songs viral on tiktok and a fanbase dying to hear the album. When it finally released in May, the world was stunned by the young artists talent and variety within the album. She is up for a Grammy nomination and has everyone exited to see what's next.
Live music makes a return after lockdown
One of the best things to come from 2021 was the reopening of music venues, bars and more. After a difficult year everyone can finally have a sense of normality. I think everyone can agree that their first concert back post lockdown either has or will be an emotional and amazing event.
Italian Rockers Win The Eurovision Song Contest
The world was stunned when the Eurovision was won by Italian rockers Maneskin. Normally having pop artists winning the contest it was truly iconic to see a change from the usual. The group became the first artist from Italy to chart in the UK and their win was truly unforgettable.
Britney Gets her Freedom
And of course, the best music moment of 2021 is of course Britney Spears finally getting her freedom. 13 years after the Free Britney moment started, the singer has finally been freed from her abusive father and we couldn’t be happier for her.
It has been an amazing year for music and the music industry as things start to return to normality, so roll on 2022 for more memorable moments.
