Zendaya Makes History

She’s getting the credit she so longingly deserves.

Can you believe ‘Euphoria’ came out summer 2019!? It feels like a lifetime ago since season 1. We have been promised season 2 but due to COVID, filming is still put on hold.

In the meantime, Zendaya has made history. The 24-year-old is now the youngest lead actress to win the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Emmy Award. She 100% deserves it after her outstanding performance of drug-addicted Rue Bennett.

Zendaya is an icon. She’s constantly supporting and highlighting minorities and young people’s rights. Even in her virtual acceptance speech for the award, she states there is hope in our young people.”

As well as being the youngest woman to win that award, she is also the second Black woman to win. Until 2015’s Viola Davis breakthrough for her performance as Annalise Keating, there had not been a Black woman to win the award.

Congrats to Zendaya, can’t wait for season 2.
