Zendaya And Anya Taylor-Joy Will Take Home A Number Of Illustrious Fashion Awards
Tune in on Nov. 10th to see the CFDA present several fashion awards to the actresses.
The CFDA announced that Zendaya will receive the CFDA's Fashion Icon award. Past winners of the icon award include Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and Naomi Campbell. Zendaya's global impact on fashion will be honored at the event.
The actress first stepped foot into the fashion industry in 2013 when she launched Daya by Zendaya, a gender-fluid and size-inclusive clothing line. Since then, she's collaborated with Tommy Hilfiger on the Tommy x Zendaya collection. She has also worked with Bulgari, Lancôme, and Valentino.
The CFDA also revealed that the Face of the Year, a new award for 2021, will be awarded to Anya Taylor-Joy. The actress/model has appeared in numerous national and international magazines such as L'Officiel, InStyle, Elle, Tatler, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and W magazine. You might recognize Taylor-Joy as the lead actress in the Netflix hit miniseries "The Queen's Gambit," and the yet-to-be-released film, "Last Night In Soho."
Taylor-Joy has appeared in numerous national and international magazines such as L'Officiel, InStyle, Elle, Tatler, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and W magazine.
The CFDA will also honor The Model Alliance, a New York-based non-profit founded by Sara Ziff. The alliance has fought for labor rights protections for models. They seek to create a more respectful and safer work environment for models free of abuse and harassment.
Other CFDA awards include American Womenswear Designer of the Year, American Menswear Designer of the Year, American Accessories Designer of the Year, American Emerging Designer of the Year, International Women's Designer of the Year, International Men's Designer of the Year, Founder's Award, Environmental Sustainability Award, the Media Award, the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Board of Directors' Tribute.
The CFDA Fashion Awards event will be held at The Pool + The Grill within New York's landmark Seagram Building on November 10th. A live stream will be available for viewing on the CFDA's website.
