Zalando and Adidas Introduce 'Open Forum' - A Platform For All

The sneaker campaign gives center stage to self-expression and diversity.

Zalando and adidas Originals team up to present revamped iconic basketball sneaker Forum84. Powered by a cast of Gen Z trendsetters Rawdah, Habibitch, Chilla, Patrick Mason, Giuseppe and Isaac Silva Looker, the OPEN FORUM campaign offers a platform for diversity, inclusion and individuality.

Born in 1984, the iconic premium Forum sneaker holds its roots in basketball, a game-changing sport which has continuously supported diversity, inclusion, equality and communities. Both played on court and adopted by the street, the timeless Forum84 silhouette symbolizes versatility, self-expression and a dynamic attitude; a perfect mirror to Gen Z’s thirst for fluidity and authenticity in today’s ever-changing world.

Stemming from these core values, OPEN FORUM aims to offer a platform for all to express diversity in various ways; breaking and reconstructing the rules on gender, race, identity and sexuality, flowing freely between creative looks and social norms, and standing true to the desire to express oneself wholeheartedly and authentically. The campaign’s intention is to give the mic to the voices of today’s youth culture, celebrating unique individuals who are reshaping the world.

Amongst many, Norwegian model, influencer and editor of Vogue Scandinavia, Rawdah Mohamed, is best known as an activist and champion of Muslim women's rights with the hashtag #HandsOffMyHijab. Her fashion style: bright colors, exciting shapes, unusual materials and no look without her hijab worn with pride.

Born and raised in Bavaria now living in Berlin, Patrick Mason has made a name for himself as a creative director, designer, performer and techno DJ. The influential multi-talent is known for his edgy style and statement looks: mixing masculine and feminine shapes and fully expressing his unmistakable creative personality.

Yet again, fluidity and self-expression are the anthem of a generation: to be who one wants to be, to break norms and reinvent without boundaries.
