Your Fizzy Fall Bucket List Is Here

Pin it to your fridge, stick it on your wall, WhatsApp it to your BFF.

The Autumn leaves on the ground, that crispy-nip in the air that officially makes it ‘sweater weather’, Pumpkin spice and everything nice… Guys, we never thought we’d say this but we might now be ‘Fall people’. Who’d have thought all those years of wishing for Summer would one day have us excited for it to come to an end? This year, our sudden enthusiasm for the changing season prompted us to curate our Fizzy Fall Bucket List below. Get your pumpkins ready people!

#1. Go sweater shopping

Grab your friend, your mum or your sister and take a stroll through your favorite department store on a chilly afternoon. You might find a perfect knit that just happens to be half-price. Strapped for cash? Go vintage shopping or hit up a flea market instead.

#2. Go apple picking

Isn’t this the sort of thing that people do in romantic comedies? Probably, but let us tell you, it’s fun and you’d be surprised by how many cities actually offer the activity. Have a little Google and see what you find.

#3. Have a scary movie night

Whether you host a spooky-themed evening for a group of your friends or allow yourself an evening alone, make it an event. Prepare your space: light candles, get your blankets ready and theme your snacks accordingly. When you’re jumping out of your skin, you’ll be glad you’ve got those delicious walnut cupcakes to distract you for a moment!

#4. DIY your Halloween costume

You can save yourself a tonne of money by DIYing your own Halloween costume this year, and okay, you may have to spend a few dollars on a couple of basics but, you’ll be surprised by how much you probably already own. Top tip: dress as a character from your latest Netflix obsession and head to Pinterest for ideas!

#5. Buy a scented Fall candle

There’s no doubt that a good scented candle can change the atmosphere of your apartment. Vanilla, salted caramel, cinnamon, carrot, chai, cranberry or pumpkin, the list goes on... Remember that burning them releases CO2 though, so opt for a Soy version or a particularly fragrant flavor that doesn’t need to be burnt for you to enjoy it. We love Etsy’s eco-friendly options

#6. Find your fall drink

What could be better than trying white hot chocolates, pumpkin spice lattes, or praline mochas at an independent coffee shop on a rainy afternoon? This fall try something new and hit up free-trade, kooky coffee shops instead of your local chain. Have an afternoon to kill? Grab a book, a big blanket scarf and spend a few hours getting lost in another world.

#7. Discover a new album (or two)

The music doesn’t have to be new but mix things up and ask a friend to recommend you an album. Then ask another. Build a fall playlist with your favorite tracks and listen to them as you spend an evening in baking cookies or head out for a girl’s night. Fall is all about experimenting.

#8. Go for an Autumn run or walk

There is honestly nothing like the crunching sound of brown, red and burnt orange leaves beneath your feet. It’s true; fall is basically Christmastime for runners. The weather is just cold enough that you don’t have to worry about over-heating, and there are just enough sunny days to make you want to get outside. Just layer a windbreaker over your workout top and you’re good to go.

#9. Change your look

Whether its bangs, going darker or chopping it all off, Fall really is a time for starting over. Forget January. Whatever you’ve been wanting to change about your appearance “in the new year”, try it now. Maybe it’s still the fifteen-year-old in us that views this time of year as ‘back to school’, but it just feels like the perfect time for reinvention. Plus, if it doesn’t work out, we can always start over again in January, right?

#10. Have/Go to a Bonfire

Picture this: some drinks, a blazing bonfire, your closest friends keeping each other warm, telling stories, making each other laugh and toasting marshmallows. Sounds perfect! However, if someone happens to whip out an acoustic guitar and starts playing Wonderwall, you have our permission to ask them to leave. (There’s always one…)

We’re finally ready to embrace our newfound love of Fall and get started on our bucket list. We hope you are too! If you decide to try anything on the list, tag us @fizzymag or use the hashtag #FizzyFallBucketList.
