Your Favourite Skater Blondey McCoy Has Created His Own Adidas Superstar
Clearly a must-have!
The London skater, artist and streetwear designer, Blondey McCoy, has partnered with adidas to produce his own take on the classic 80s Superstar. Blondey stated that he wanted to create something unique without changing the fundamental DNA of the superstar—“it had to be vegan, it had to be durable, and it had to strike the right balance of both fashion and function.”
The transparent upper sits atop a gum sole, yet the classic three-stripes remain, straddling a white synthetic leather tongue and heel tab. The shoe also features ventilation along the stripes, making it perfect for skating. The adidas logo appears on the tongue in blue, however the finishing touch has to be Blondey’s name printed in gold foil on the side wall.
Three pairs of socks will also be released as part of the collaboration, featuring a River Thames graphic alongside the iconic three stripes. You won’t want to be wearing odd socks with these sneakers.
The limited edition Superstars will be available to purchase for $110 from the 14th of December on the adidas website and from various adidas retailers.
