Why Budapest Is The Place For Spa Breaks

Some of the best spa experiences in Hungary.

POSTED BY SOPHIE CLARK

Sometimes holidays are a time when you want nothing more than to just relax. What could be more relaxing than a spa day, and a spa day in Budapest is more than you could ever hope for.

Hungary is famous for its thermal baths. The country has more than 100 hot springs and the mineral-rich water makes for a deeply healing experience when you visit the baths.

Gellért Thermal Bath

A full-day ticket is $31.15. This facility has ten different pools at different temperatures all accessible with your day ticket. They also offer a range of massages for not much more. A very popular part of this experience is the outdoor pool.

The Secret Garden Spa

This spa is within a hotel. Tickets are $33 for three hours. This spa is more upscale than the last, offering a Finnish sauna, and steam room. Plus they offer several types of massages and skin care.

Rudas Thermal Bath

Another thermal bath house. This historic monument is a stunning place to visit. They offer a women's day on Tuesday, allowing female travelers and natives a safe swimming experience. Day tickets are $35.92

Lukacs Thermal Bath

Lukacs is a lesser-known gem. They offer the same pools but in a more modern setting. Because they don't have the same history name they are often less full so if you don't want to be around as many people this is the place for you. Tickets are only $13 for the day!

And remember all these places to book ahead barring your flip flops and towel.
