What are the Best Alternative Venues for a Wedding Day

Unique and different to celebrate your day.

Some people like a traditional wedding, while others prefer to go off the beaten track and do something different. If you’re in the latter camp, this article is for you. Below, we have five exceptional ideas for wedding venues that are unique and different to celebrate your day.

Barn Wedding

The last ten years have seen a few changes, especially when it comes to wedding styles and venues. We’ve had minimalism, neo-hippie culture, and of course, cottage core, so a barn wedding is right on trend if you want somewhere unique and special to start a new life together.

Since barn weddings have become more of a thing in the past few years, more venues are available. Barn wedding venues tend to be rustic in style and fully equipped for indoor and outdoor celebrations. Of course, you will have the chance to decorate your barn if you want.

Farm Wedding

Farm weddings are another way to celebrate your big day in style. In the old days, almost everyone was married on a farm, so it’s a chance to get back to your roots and celebrate in a neo-traditional style. Again. Farm wedding venues are set up for indoor and outdoor events.

With a farm venue, you can expect there to be a single venue for all the proceedings and celebrations. That said, there will probably be different areas of the venue to move to, depending on the wedding stage. As with all venues, you should try them before committing.

Castle Wedding

If you intend to get married in certain parts of the world, you have the option of a castle wedding. Castles are iconic and memorable; they are also interesting for your guest. Castle weddings take place in a single venue, but you and your guests will occupy many spaces.

Unfortunately, castle weddings are limited to certain parts of the world. If you live in the UK or mainland Europe, there are plenty of castles to choose from. Many castles are set up for weddings, they are easy to test and book, but you will have to think about logistics for guests.

Beach Wedding

Again, beach weddings are limited to certain parts of the world; you will need access to the coast at least. Beach weddings are popular for their spectacular scenery, amazing wedding photographs, and perfect memories. If sea and sand are your things, this is one to consider.

Beach weddings offer a few advantages that other venues don’t. For one thing, you can invite more people thanks to the extensive venue on offer. There are also savings to be made on decorations and other venue costs. The downside is the risk you have to take with the weather.

Country House

If you are looking for an alternative to a castle wedding, look no further than a country house. Country houses are an excellent place for a formal occasion - many of them were designed with this express purpose. However, you will once again need to be in the right part of the world.
