The fashion industry has new trends all the time. Things are constantly moving in and out of fashion, making it hard to stay updated with what’s hot and what’s not. But, there’s one trend that I think everyone can get behind: affordable fashion.

Usually, there’s a direct correlation between looking good and spending loads of money. I think we’ve almost been tricked into believing that the best fashion items are expensive. This is not the case! You can still look fantastic and wear excellent brands without breaking the bank. To show you how achievable this is, here are a few ways to cut the cost of our outfits without sacrificing your style.

Thrift shops

Thrift shops or vintage stores have become all the rage. They represent a great way for anyone to get their hands on older fashion items. From old-school printed tees to jackets, and even vintage footwear; it’s all available at a thrift shop. You’ll also be surprised at how many of these shops are up and about. Run a quick search for your area, and you’re bound to find one fairly close to where you live. The items are cheaper as they are second-hand, but they’re all in great condition and offer huge style points.

Sales

You can’t go wrong with a sale or two. The problem with sales is that clothes tend to sell out very quickly. So, maybe avoid the typical sales on Black Friday, in January, etc. Instead, look for more niche sales where items are less likely to run out. Most brands have sales all-year-round, where they discount out-of-season products. Or, they have sales on accessories. There’s an Oliver Bonas sale on right now where you can get cut-price jewelry to go with all your outfits. Accessories are great as they don’t come in sizes and usually have high stock numbers. So, they don’t sell out so fast. The same goes for out-of-season products, buy winter clothes now, and you will look stylish in a few months for a fraction of the cost.

eBay or Depop

Lastly, you can buy clothes directly from your fellow fashionistas. Both eBay and Depop let people sell their unwanted items. You can usually get some amazing deals, and the quality of clothes is right up there with brand new stuff. Some people sell things with the tag on because it doesn’t fit and they forgot to send it back. If you’re smart, you can really sniff out a deal on either platform. eBay has been around for ages, but Depop might work best for you as it is literally made as a fashion platform. It’s easier to find what you’re after, and you can piece together stylish outfits at a fraction of their usual costs.

See, fashion doesn’t have to be expensive. These tips can help you buy amazing items from some of the biggest brands out there. So, you’re still draped in quality items, but you don’t have to pay a fortune for them. Affordable fashion is a growing trend that everyone should look to be part of!
