10 Ways To Boost Your Personal Growth

A guide on how to become the best version of yourself.

POSTED BY RUHI CHOUDHURY

We all want to be successful, but it can be difficult to figure out how. If life was simple, we would ALL be filthy rich and living it up somewhere tropical and hot. Unfortunately, it’s not. Being successful takes hard work but it’s important that with every stage in life, we strive to be the best version of ourselves. Sure, it’s not easy, but here at Fizzy Mag we’ve come up with 10 tips for boosting personal growth and self-fulfilment. Follow these in your everyday life and you’ll eventually reach your goals one step at a time, we promise!

#1.    Avoid Procrastination

We know, we know, it’s easier said than done. But with every second wasted, you lose the opportunity to progress that bit more. If you find yourself in a rut, do something different. Shake things up a bit. At best, you’re just bored and at worst, you’re making excuses for yourself. Get up and get it done.

#2.   Learn Discipline

When it comes to self-growth, discipline is your best friend. It’ll make sure you don’t fall off the wagon while also guiding you through some of life’s biggest challenges. Learning to be true to yourself and your intentions can be a difficult thing to do. Learning discipline can make sure you stick to your goals, especially through the tough times, of which there will naturally be plenty.

#3.    Get Creative

Not everyone is creative and that’s fine. Forcing yourself to be creative won’t get you anywhere BUT pushing yourself to get out of your comfort zone can get you somewhere. Mixing things up in your life will introduce you to newfound interests that you never thought you had. Not only will you learn something about yourself, but you’ll have fun in the process too. This in turn will keep your mind fresh and ready for when it’s time to tackle your projects.

#4.    Be Practical

Having dreams is wonderful but lofty dreams can often be a burden on one’s mind. It’s good to keep yourself in check. Enjoy the small victories that come your way. If you’re always focused on the end goal, you’ll never enjoy the process of getting there. Learn to be practical with your dreams and understand that life is a marathon, not a race.

#5.    Be Honest With Yourself

Are you truly giving 100% in all your commitments? Do you often find yourself a little sheepish after the fact, knowing that you had a bit more left to give? If so, you’ll always be disappointed in yourself. Trying your hardest and failing is never something to be ashamed of but not trying at all is. You want to be proud of yourself and the only way you can do that is by devoting 100% in everything that you pursue.

#6.   Turn Your "Weaknesses" Into Strength

There is always a way to turn a negative into a positive. When you find yourself feeling down or demotivated, it can be easy to focus on all your drawbacks and forget about the bigger picture. Use those weaknesses in your favor instead. If you’re someone who struggles to stay focused, take a break and do something that forces you to stay alert. Maybe you struggle to multitask? Pick something small and quick from your list and work your way up from there to build confidence. Pace yourself and be patient. Nobody’s perfect and trying to be so is a recipe for failure.

#7.    Adopt A Healthy Lifestyle

Having an exercise routine and eating well does wonder for your productivity as well as self-confidence. Healthy food fuels your mind and spirit, while junk food disrupts it. Working out releases endorphins that are designed to make you feel happier and self-fulfilled. The two together are a deadly combo for anyone who wishes to be successful in life.

#8.    Don't Focus On Other People

We all live different lives and have different goals and interests. Our lives are our own and the obstacles we face our unique to ourselves. If you find yourself wrapped up in someone else’s business, you’ll forget about your own. It doesn’t matter if the person next to you took fewer steps to get to the place you’re trying to get to. What matters is what YOU want out of your life and how YOU wish to get it. You don’t know their struggle and they don’t know yours, so you’ll never really see the true picture. Use that energy instead on the things that matter to YOU.

#9.    Mingle With Like-Minded Individuals

Surrounding yourself with people who inspire you is a sure way to self-growth and development. Not only will they understand you, but they’ll know how to help and will say the right things. When you’re struggling for motivation, these are the people who will remind you why you do the things you do. Evaluate your circle and be honest with yourself: are the people in your life right now healthy for your growth or do they bring you down? You only get one life so fill it with the right individuals.

#10.   Learn To Give Back

You might not realize it but every person you help is a big step towards becoming a better version of yourself. The next time you get worked up over small things, you’ll remember that person you helped who was in a worse state than you. Context is everything and, as such, you’ll gain perspective by realizing the important things in life.
