Body confidence can be difficult to achieve. The pressure to look good can sometimes feel overwhelming and it’s easy to slip into bad habits, such as comparing yourself to others. It’s important to try and focus on what you actually like about yourself. Instead of hiding under baggy clothes, give yourself a bit of pampering and show off your body. Here are five ways to boost your body confidence.

Stop comparing

One of the first steps to body confidence recommended by psychologists is to stop comparing yourself to other people. Your body is never going to look the same as anyone else’s so you’ll only be setting yourself unrealistic goals. Instead, get to know your own body. Find out what looks good on you, or which workout routine works best for you, rather than trying to follow the crowd.

Practise conscious beauty

Taking care of yourself is easier if you take care of the environment as well. More and more people are choosing to practise conscious beauty. This is about being aware of where certain products come from and being mindful about your beauty regime. Conscious beauty also has a more natural focus, allowing you to be confidently beautiful inside and out. It focuses on individuality and awareness, giving you the option to make the healthiest choice for you and the planet.

Treat yourself to a pampering

Pampering yourself could be anything from an at-home facial to having a tummy tuck, whatever you feel like doing to treat yourself. You deserve it after a long day, so maybe sure you take the time to relax. You can even bring the spa home by making your own natural beauty products and treatments. Look up some easy recipes and have a spa day at home. It’s a great way to relieve stress and get a bit of confidence back.

Don’t hide your body

It’s time to stop hiding your body behind your clothes. Many people make this mistake if they’re not feeling very body confident. In fact, baggy clothes are less flattering and don’t give people the chance to see your amazing figure. It’s always more fun to dress to impress and choose the outfit you want. There’s no reason why you should hide behind baggy clothes. Go on a shopping spree with one of your friends and splash out on something more fun to wear.

Social media detox

If you’re looking to regain body confidence, a social media detox is sometimes a good idea. You can also do a bit of editing. Don’t carry on following people that make you miserable or who are toxic for whatever reason. Stick to the friends that make you feel positive and confident. Sometimes it’s a good idea to have a complete break from social media. Spend more time focusing on reality and what’s actually going on in front of you. This will allow you to gain a little more perspective. Before you know it, you’ll have the body confidence you once had back again.
